Privacy & Cookie Policy

This policy explains what personal data markkram.co.uk collects, why, how long it's kept and what your rights are under UK data protection law.

01Who I am

This website, markkram.co.uk, is run by Mark Kram. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

You can contact me about anything in this policy at mark@crammedia.uk.

02What I collect

This site does not have user accounts, a contact form, a newsletter or any analytics or advertising tracking. The only personal data I receive is:

  • Information you send me. If you email me or contact me through social media, I receive your name, email address and anything you include in your message, such as event dates, venues and project details.
  • Basic technical data. Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site may automatically record technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
  • Video plays. Videos on the site are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com and YouTube receives your IP address and browser details.
  • Font requests. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Cookies below.

I don't knowingly collect data from children, and I don't ask for any special category data such as health information.

03How I use it

WhatWhyLawful basis
Your enquiry and contact detailsTo reply to you, quote for work and arrange bookingsSteps before entering a contract, or legitimate interests in responding to enquiries
Details of booked workTo deliver the job, invoice and keep business recordsContract, and legal obligation for accounting records
Server and technical dataTo run, secure and fix the websiteLegitimate interests

I will never sell your data or use it for marketing you haven't asked for.

04Who I share it with

I only share personal data where it's needed to run my business:

  • my website hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs
  • my email provider, which handles messages you send me
  • Google, which serves the site's fonts and, through YouTube, any video you choose to play
  • my accountant and HMRC, for the business records of booked work
  • Cram Media UK, if your enquiry is for a crewed production delivered by the company

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

05How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 2 years, so I can follow up on the same event, then deleted.
  • Booked work and invoices: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax records.
  • Server logs: kept for the hosting provider's standard period, usually a few weeks.

06Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you
  • ask me to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
  • ask me to delete your data
  • object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use your data
  • ask for your data in a portable format

To use any of these rights, email mark@crammedia.uk. I'll reply within one month. There's no charge in most cases.
