Hello, I’m Mark an award-winning, experienced Media practitioner with a 1st class honours degree in Broadcast Media Production awarded from the University Of Sunderland.
I’ve been working in the live streaming, broadcast and event industry for over a decade and I travel across the UK and Europe to work on live-streamed, broadcast and event productions.
My high-level technical mindset of skills and experience allowed me before recently going freelance to join production teams which saw me provide support on comprehensive outside visual productions for all types of client briefs. I’ve worked with global brands such as Sony, Pentland, Johnson and Johnson, Temenos, TikTok, Pfizer, NHS, Adobe, SKY, ITV, UK Government Departments, and many more. My typical roles whilst onsite can usually see me rigging venues with streaming and broadcast equipment, operating cameras, vision mixing, mixing audio, lighting setup/operation, encoding, all the way to operating an autocue at times.
I have a wide range of skills and knowledge from sound and visual editing, camera and sound recording to planning and coordinating productions as well as radio station management and technical knowledge. I am a highly motivated, self-driven audio/visual practitioner who always aims high in delivering high-class productions. With haven already set up and ran a community media based online television project for over 10 years combined with extensive work experience, I feel as though with the skills and experience which I have learnt such as leadership, teamwork, organisation, time management, communication and problem solving, this is absolutely something that I consider myself to be extremely good at and I consider myself to a star candidate in delivering excellent visual & sound productions for all types of briefs.
As you can begin to get a picture I love working in audio-visual, digital and broadcast media environments and I work with video, sound, photography and graphics and I’m a videographer, video editor, live camera operator, self directing-vision mixer, photographer, radio presenter, mobile DJ as well as a audio-visual event technician. My skill set ranges from providing mobile DJ work for all types of parties as well as being a skilled DJ mixing music types such as house, disco, trance, old skool and more..
I have been involved in the mobile DJ industry since a young age. I have work with several DJs / mobile DJs, who throughout my early days have helped me get to where I am today. Throughout my time I have learnt to become a professional DJ and learnt to understand the industry all from experience.
Creativity is my absolute passion and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the result pay off and being able to say “I did that” after spending hours of your time crafting every bit of detail together to form the final pieces. It almost like your baby, you put so much love and care into it and help it grow to become ready for its freedom in the world.
I have played major roles in branding and web designing for events and organisations, companies and more, even the making of this website!.
I was born in a small North East seaside town of South Shields, just a few miles from Newcastle where I spent my childhood days growing up. I spent much of my early year learning and experimenting with technology which led me to become a very technical minded and productive person. Since then I’ve always known that I wanted to work in a broadcast environment and I would always be looking for things to do and ways of which I could broadcast content to one of the easiest platforms, the internet.
In 2009 I set up a community media organisation for the local area of South Shields which saw a community radio station operate from 2009-2013 and a community television station that still continues to operate to this day and has nearly half a million views! I also got myself involved in other local community organisation such as event work, working with sound and lighting which allowed me to work on some great production.
After leaving school in 2011 I went on to study media production at NCL college where I come out with some top grades and experience! I then went on to complete a degree in Broadcast Media Production at The University Of Sunderland where I then graduated in 2017 with a first-class honours degree (BA (Hons). After graduation, I then went on to work in live television as a TX operator for television station Ideal Shopping Direct where I worked for almost a year alongside taking on various other client work.
In my free time, I like to present and produce videos for my community media organisation. Whether that being documentaries, news reports, event highlights or short films it’s all apart of what I do at Cram Media. I also work and have been involved in a number of radio stations inducing NE1fm, Broad Radio, Pulse Radio, HCA Radio and my very own station Cram FM where I have presented my flagship Saturday Night Party show.
In 2013 I began working at HCA Radio as the station technician before taking on the role of station manager where I spent 5 years working there. As well all this I am also a mobile DJ offering professional service across the North East of England. I also work with sound and lighting at events where I have played the role of setting up and controlling stage lighting for a number of past events as well as mixing for the front of house sound on other occasions.
